Heart Perler Beads

Heart Perler beads patterns give you six designs to follow, with exact bead totals and colors to help you prepare. Choose a plain heart, heart arrow, heart flower, heart lock, winged heart, or heart hands. Four patterns fit on one board, while two use four boards. Open any preview in the Designer to change colors, check how many beads you need, and download a PNG or PDF before you start placing beads.

Which Heart Pattern Should You Choose?

Compare designs

Start by comparing the six heart Perler beads patterns by bead total rather than by name alone. The heart flower uses 198 beads, the heart arrow uses 313, and the plain heart uses 406. These totals give you three different starting points for planning.

Check requirements

The heart lock needs 436 beads, while heart hands needs 1,120 and the winged heart needs 1,166. Compare the previews of these heart Perler beads patterns before choosing between them. A name tells you the subject, but the actual pattern shows the individual bead positions you will need to follow.

Choose your pattern

Color variety matters when choosing heart Perler beads patterns, too. The plain heart uses only two colors, while the heart lock uses seven. Heart hands uses four colors despite its larger bead total, so a bigger design does not always mean sorting more different colors.

How Many Beads and Colors Do You Need?

Sort your colors

Gather 5mm Perler beads for all six designs. For the plain heart Perler beads pattern, set aside 340 Hot Coral beads and 66 Red beads. Keeping these two colors in separate containers makes it easier to pick the right bead while following the chart.

Check quantities

The heart flower needs 74 Black, 46 Hot Coral, eight Red, 29 Dark Green, and 41 Green beads. Its total is 198, but each color has a separate job in the pattern. Count your supplies by color rather than checking only the overall amount.

Gather supplies

For the heart hands design, prepare 579 Sand, 303 Rust, 104 Butterscotch, and 134 Hot Coral beads. If you change any heart Perler beads pattern, check the updated totals in the Designer before sorting supplies. Your edited copy may need different amounts than the original.

One Board or Four Boards?

Check dimensions

Four heart Perler beads patterns use a 29×29 pattern space: the plain heart, heart arrow, heart flower, and heart lock. Each needs one 29×29 board. Choose one of these when you want to keep the whole chart and bead arrangement on a single board.

Plan board space

The winged heart and heart hands use a 58×58 pattern space. Each needs four 29×29 boards arranged two across and two down. Set up the complete square before placing beads so that you can follow positions across the boundaries without shifting your work later.

Compare bead totals

Board capacity is not your shopping total for heart Perler beads. A 29×29 board has 841 positions, but the heart flower fills only 198. Four boards provide 3,364 positions, yet heart hands uses 1,120 beads. Leave positions empty wherever the chart shows no bead.

How to Follow the Pattern Row by Row

  1. heart 29x29 color-coded placement chart

    Locate a row

Before placing heart Perler beads, find the first occupied row in your chosen chart and count the empty positions before its first bead. Use that starting position on your board. Keeping the same row and column positions helps prevent the design from drifting sideways.

  2. winged heart 58x58 color-coded placement chart

    Check each row

Work across one row of your heart Perler beads pattern, then compare it with the chart before moving down. Count color changes as well as beads, especially where only one or two positions use a different color. A short section can still need careful checking, even when the overall design is small.

  3. heart lock 29x29 color-coded placement chart

    Review the chart

For larger heart Perler beads patterns, check both sides of each board boundary as you reach it. Confirm that the next bead continues in the correct row. Before any heating, compare the completed arrangement with the chart and correct missing beads, extra beads, or misplaced colors.

Change Bead Colors and Download Your Pattern

Open a heart Perler beads pattern by selecting its preview image or the Open in Designer button. This opens that exact design in the homepage Designer. You can change bead colors there instead of trying to remember a set of substitutions while placing the beads.

Use draw to add beads to your heart Perler beads pattern and erase to remove them. Undo takes back a change, and redo restores it if you change your mind again. Watch the updated totals as you work so that your bead list matches the version you actually intend to make.

Download your edited heart Perler beads pattern as a PNG or PDF when you are ready. Check the saved pattern before starting, especially after changing several colors or positions. No account is required, and the downloaded copy lets you follow your choices away from the Designer.

Choose Your Next Project or Prepare for Ironing

Plan another project

After choosing heart Perler beads, compare another collection if you want a different subject for your next project. The flower collection has five patterns, and the star collection has nine. Look at each preview and its bead total rather than assuming every design needs similar supplies.

Browse collections

For other subjects, browse eight cat patterns, three Minecraft patterns, or eleven Pokemon patterns, including six Pikachu designs. Choose the next project by its actual board requirements and colors. Supplies left from a heart pattern may help, but check each new bead list before starting.

Prepare for fusing

If you would rather sketch your own heart Perler beads pattern, use the blank printable page with 29×29 or 58×58 grids. When your bead arrangement is ready, read the published ironing guide for the heating steps. An adult should do the fusing, not a child.

Frequently asked questions

You need between 198 and 1,166 beads for the six heart Perler beads patterns here. The heart flower uses the fewest, while the winged heart uses the most. Use the total for your chosen design, then check each color separately. An edited pattern may have a different total.

The plain heart uses the fewest colors: Red and Hot Coral. It needs 66 Red beads and 340 Hot Coral beads, for 406 altogether. That makes it a useful choice when you want fewer colors to sort, although the heart flower has a lower overall bead total.

Four designs fit on one 29×29 pegboard: the plain heart, heart arrow, heart flower, and heart lock. The winged heart and heart hands each need four 29×29 boards arranged in a square. Check the pattern space before starting, rather than judging board needs from a scene photo.

Yes, you can change heart Perler beads colors in the Designer before downloading your pattern. Open the design from its preview image or Open in Designer button, make your changes, and check the updated totals. Download a PNG or PDF of that edited pattern to use while placing beads.

All six designs use 5mm Perler beads, including the four smaller patterns and the two larger ones. The bead size stays the same whether the pattern needs one board or four.

Use the published blank printable page, which offers 29×29 and 58×58 grids. Choose the grid matching your planned pattern space, then mark bead positions and colors to create your own chart.

An adult should do the fusing. Perler's official instructions specify medium heat without steam, ironing paper, and a flat, heat-safe surface. Move the iron in circles without pressing down, checking the beads occasionally.
